My main field of <a title=\"Research.html\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20260305104740\/https:\/\/people.astro.ruhr-uni-bochum.de\/hendrik\/Hendrik_Hildebrandts_Website\/Research.html\">research<\/a> is the weak gravitational lensing effect that is used to make dark matter structures visible. By analysing large imaging surveys of the sky we study the evolution of the Universe on the largest scales and gain unique insights into cosmological physics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">My research is supported by the European Research Council (ERC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-bottom: 0pt;\" class=\"Body\">Together with Prof. Catherine Heymans (University of Edinburgh; guest professor in Bochum) I have founded the <a onclick=\"window.open(this.href); return false;\" title=\"https:\/\/gccl-rub.github.io\/index\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20260305104740\/https:\/\/gccl-rub.github.io\/index\" onkeypress=\"window.open(this.href); return false;\">German Centre for Cosmological Lensing (GCCL)<\/a>, a research network of German institutes studying weak and strong gravitational lensing for cosmological applications.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8220;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8220;4.17.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8220;default&#8220; custom_padding=&#8220;15px||15px||true|false&#8220; global_colors_info=&#8220;{}&#8220;][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8220;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8220;4.17.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8220;default&#8220; custom_padding=&#8220;15px||15px||true|false&#8220; global_colors_info=&#8220;{}&#8220;][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cosmology Hendrik HildebrandtI am a professor of Observational Cosmology at the Ruhr-University Bochum.
